Yes, the only way is to go into Bootcamp as a PFC and I think become company honor graduate. From what I've heard only one recruit can become a Lcpl in Bootcamp.
i hav a friend who is boot camp right now and he is coming out as a PFC because he was an eagle scout he receuted his friend and they are there together...he told me if he receuted one more person (total of 2 people he receuted) then he would graduate as a lance corpral...
Well if while you are in the DEP you bring in two other USMC prospects and they enlist you get promoted one rank..
Certain MOS's will also promote you because you must take a longer contract with the mos.
If you do that JROTC thing in HS you get promoted one rank.
If you went into boot camp a PFC then if you were chosen by the DI to get meritoriously promoted you would have E3.
DI's are encouraged to promote as many recruits as they see fit..You simply must stick out in all aspects..You dont have to be the fastest or strongest or best shooter.
Yes those recruits will get promoted but many times average recruits get promoted for giving their all the entire time there.
In the long run you will feel better if you earn your rank like the majority of Marines. For some reason todays society feels as if they should instantly be jumped ahead because of either this reason or that one.
The DI's dont know who is what rank until they look at your records..So they just choose who they feel deserves to be promoted..If they choose a PFC to get promoted then his *** is now a LCPL.Well if while you are in the DEP you bring in two other USMC prospects and they enlist you get promoted one rank..
