Absolutely! A cosmetology license covers hair, skin and nails. I have a cosmetology license (in NJ and CA) but I've mostly worked as an esthetician. A cosmetology license trumps an esthetician license like a passport trumps a drivers license. I have NEVER had a spa owner/comapny where I was applying to be an esthetician say "Oh, you have a cosmetology license? Oh well, you need an esthetician license to work here" NEVER has that happened because Cosmo license covers it all!

Most states require a cosmetology license to practice esthetics, so yes, you should be safe to work on your esthetics training without the need for an additional license, but you need to check with your state's professional licensing bureau to be sure. You need a Cosmetology or Nail Tech license. It is illegal to do nails and charge in every state without a license..Esthetician is skin, Nothing to do with nails.
