Hello. I would like to know if any car engine would fit in any other car, even if other procedures have to be taken.
For eg: i heard a person fitted a "Chevrolet Lumina SS" V8 engine in a "Nissan Patrol" & someone fitted a "Lexus LS400" V8 engine in a "Toyota Cressida."
So is it possible for other cars as well?
Thanx.

One of the other answers hit it on the head. Anything is possible with enought time and money.
Modern engines are computer controlled with many sensors. If you swap engines you need to swap the sensor system, computer, and wiring harness. It gets very complicated when you have to look at how the engine mates with the drivetrain and the physical packaging, how the engine talks to the fuel pumps, how it reads data from the exhaust system, how it communicates with the gagues.
I gather from your screenname, you have a cressida and want to dump a lexus engine in it? Unless you really want a challenge and a car that is not sellable...buy a used lexus instead with the lexus engine already fitted. Lexus is a Toyota nameplate, but you would be looking at fitting a new engine, transmission, wiring harness, modifying your subframe and engine cradle.. This is a job for a serious DIY mechanic or Chip Foose.
Main difference is bike engines are wet sump and,the gearbox is integral with the engine and both have the same oil supply, bike engines have wet multiplate clutches and don't really have a flywheel.gearboxes are simple dog clutch boxes and 2 strokes have no valve gear but bottom end is generally the same except for roller bearing big end and crankcase sealing. Some little bikes have centrifugal clutches and no gearbox as such.I work on truck engines but I would rather play with a 60 kilo bandit engine than some crap 14 liter diesel lump that is nearer a thousand kilos and a right **** to get at.We are talking big jap bikes here not old BSA /Triumph antiques.
With modification you can fit any engine anywhere, as long as you have the ECU for that system in the car, so, you have to transfer both the engine and the brains.. some cars have alot of modification to do that, such as more or fewer subframes, and pushing the firewall, dash and seats back to compensate lack of room, it is alot of work to put a engine where it doesnt belong, but if your really into it, you'll be happy with the results.
ya i found a car for my friend for a friend years ago for $800 it was a 75 toyota wagon with a v-8 302 bosscam /double pumper shortend 9 inch ,it would suk corvettes up the exhaust,u can put any motor u want in them but it can take some afro enginearing
Yes you can. In most cases it will require custom made mounting brackets, custom made drive shafts(where applicable) and a major rewiring. All manufacturers use their own wiring scheme and self designed computers for the engines emission controls. It's generally not an easy "slam dunk"! ;-)=
Sure it is.. There's a lot of fabrication involved along with different wiring that will be needed. It's going to take someone with time and patience to possibly do something like you are wanting.
With the proper equipment, knowledge and Money you can put just about any engine in any car some with small modifications and others with drastic modifications.
its just changing motor mounts and clearances at that point, also a sweet project, was an R34 in a 93 civic hatch.... 535hp in a 2200lb car, also a 2JZ-GTE (twin turbo supra engine) in a prelude SH
go to a real drag race...you will see ford ,chevy and dodge motors stuffed into every car ever made
as long as you are able to change the motor mounts and the transmition and the hood closes it should be alright.
