Car problem? Clicking noise then loses power?
Ok, so I literally just got my license today.
I have a 2002 Gold passat with 227k miles.
So I'm driving and on the dashboard (or whatever the place behind the wheel is called that has the speedometer) it shows the D lit up because I am in drive mode.
All of the sudden, I hear a click noise but like a big powerful click and all the modes light up, P R N D etc. Then, my car loses horsepower or something. Like I tried to get up my driveway which is steep and I had a lot of trouble when normally I don't. Whats wrong?

Everything in the car is electronic, something is causing a short circuit, possibly some water leaked into the car? Feel the carpet to see if its damp.
The electronic gadgets that control the transmission and traction are under the floor, its a horrible design fault, if the carpet is wet you need to get that fixed quickly or it can be very expensive.
