Both Catholics and Protestants and every other denomination teaches the Truth of the Holy Bible. Each one interprets the Bible differently, although most of what they believe is common.
Well won't all Protestants say Protestant and all Catholics say Catholic? I am a Catholic. The Protestants were once Catholics, but Martin Luther broke away from the church because he felt he knew better then the actual religion of Jesus Christ ~ which was Catholicism. Every Christian religion that exists today is an off-shoot from the Catholic church. It started with the Protestants and splintered out into the 1000's we have to day.
This is the reason I feel strongly that Catholicism is the right religion. It was the religion of Jesus Christ and his followers. It is the Christianity they began. Men came along and "re-wrote" the bible conveniently leaving out the parts they didn't agree with or like. This is why the Catholic version of the bible is different then the King James version. These blatant facts are the reason I feel the Catholic religion teaches the TRUTH of Jesus Christ. It was his religion in the first place.
They both can be wrong. I can say that it depends upon what is being preached. I have heard Roman Catholics give beautiful messages, and I've heard terrible messages given by Protestants.
But one thing I will note is that when it comes to worshiping God, the Roman Catholics have a lot in the way to do it right; praying to Mary and the Saints!
But there are charlatans on both sides, and Protestants had better beware and not be too proud! The wolves are in the flock and they are taking many with their messages!
It takes a letting go of traditions, and dying to yourself for Christ, and trusting God through the Holy Spirit to break these things. Earnest prayer, and telling ourselves to get out of the way, in order to to have God teach us.
Not many do that!
EDIT: Praying to Mary and the Saints! What is that about? Where in God's word is that a good thing to do? (King Manasseh!) And what is the message there? God can't do it? God isn't listening, so you have to have someone else tell Him things? Who can counsel God?! Shame on them!
Neither! They preach the traditions of man and not of God.
Ask God to find you a nondenominational church that preaches sound doctrine!
DO THE WILL OF GOD
You need to find a home church, be obedient, follow his word, be baptized with the holy spirit, show your self approved and do the will of God (Mark 16: 15 - 18)
You cannot lump all protestant denominations together... they are all too varied. From extreme liberalism, do your own thing to far right fundalmentalism to almost Catholic.
From my point of view, it's the confessional Lutherans. We teach Sola Scriptura and that only scripture can interpret scripture.
But that's me. And everyone will say that they have it right! It's really a useless fight which will undoubtably end up with namecalling.
Why ask. We are all to be of like mind. We all fall short no matter which church we associate ourselves with. My goal is for the truth to be heard from my mouth. God bless the ask-er.
