If it is a Verizon Blackberry it cannot be unlocked to use on T-mobile's service. That's because Verizon uses a CDMA network while T-mobile uses a GSM network. However you would be able to use the Blackberry on Sprint's network, since it also uses CDMA.
The problem you're going to run into is that TMobile and Verision use different technology so no matter how much you pay or who says that they can do this for you, they're either misinformed or they're scamming you.
TMobile uses GSM technology.
Verision uses CDMA technology.
My advice is to try and find a GSM blackberry if that's what you want but beware because a lot of companies will require you to have a data plan and a voice plan if you have a smart phone...and if your service is already terrible, you're going to end up extending your contract by another two years when you do switch plans.
Your only hope of an unlocked phone would be to check a website that sells phones unlocked already. Try searching for it, I know that Amazon sometimes offers unlocked phones. Good luck!
I also use T-Mobile (FL), and someone gave me a blackberry they were done with and I simply switched the sim card and it works like a charm.
p.s. the phone I was coming from was low tech (Samsung), and was not even camera equipped, and it still works.
t-mobile stopped unlocking phones you have to have the phone already unlocked when you buy it
