Although I love the Age of the Stuarts and the era at the turn of the 17th Century, the religious bogotry and general prejudice leave me cold plus I need a few modern comforts, that said I would get into your time machine and head out for the turn of the 19th Century - - - either in bustling New York or London, spending much time lounging about on Atlantic liners hobnobbing with the rich & powerful as well as more common folks.

The early silent movies, the vaudeville stage, the first automobiles, the trains, I could truly enjoy mself from 1890 through 1920 and even through to the 30s....

Creature comforts & decent food would be an issue for me. So the middle ages would be out. The ancient and classical era also, to great of a chance to be cruising the med, below decks in a galley, or lion food in the arena.

I would choose either early colonial America, or the early 19th century America.
