The cheapest way to find out is to stop in at the Clerk of Courts and ask if your specific charges are expungable. If so, you can ask for a motion packet to expunge a misdemeanor. Fill it out, return it to the Clerk's office with the filing fee and a court hearing will be held. You would be notified by mail of the decision.

Another way to find out is to have an initial consultation with an attorney within the jurisdiction of the arrest/conviction. The attorney can also advise you of current laws. Again, if you qualify, he can draw up your petition and submit it to the court in your behalf. Most lawyers do not charge for an initial consultation and will also advise you of their charge for handling this for you.

I don't know how North Dakota works that kind of thing but it wouldn't hurt to call your local police department. I do believe though that you can file to have your records expunged but you would I am sure have to go to court for such things.
