it's not noobish, it's all about playstyle, if you like staying in the shadows (and off the minimap)
but yes, without warlord, you are limited, try searching xboxahoy on youtube and watch some of his videos, he's a good mentor. and in regards to your second question, that all depends on the reload times of the gun in question, try experimenting, but all in all, it comes down to personal playstyle.
Sleight of Hand is a great perk, specially if the enemy team plays close attention to the map.
Personally I have mixed classes, ranging with different attachments and perks as im sure most do..
But one thing I have is a few stealth classes(Good for offense and defense) and then my power offense. I play hard core, so I start off the match with something that doesn't have a silencer, and doesn't have ghost. I usually use Hardline to try and get a few good kill streaks.
However, if I notice the enemy team gets a UAV I will switch to ghost (usualy with a rocket), take out the UAV, next death, back to Hardline, unless they are constantly getting UAV's then I stick to ghost and just go around picking people off..
As for attachments, silencers are amazing, especially on Core (because they always have a map) Great on hard core too, less sound. On hard core, it really doesn't really matter unless your playing a Ghost class.. I mean, they don't have a map, and when they use UAV, if your not using Ghost they see you if your shooting or not so.

Surpressors are nvr noobish. Only the guns you put them on are. And personaly i like dual mag and red dot the best for most of my guns.
Suppressors are not noobish at all, they are very strategic IMO.
Also, SOH is always a good choice, any advantage is a good one for quick encounters.
1st answer: nope.. I don't think so.
2nd Answer: Sleight of hand (how many time do you get killed reloading?)
