compaq presario c500 sound problem?
i installed a new hard drive on to my compaq presario c500, then installed windows xp. now the sound doesnt work. it is not on mute and i went into device manager and it says the drivers are good

Well try downloading the drivers from their website and installing them.

It could be that the default windows drivers are "working correctly" but don't actually work with your hardware. Can't hurt to try.
