im asking this question for both my mother and myself. My little sister is really quick and smart in spelling and her math(she is in third grade), but she has a pretty bad problem with comprehending what she reads in her books. my mom tested her out by telling her a very short story. "Mary and her father live on a farm. They have a cow named Old Bess. They love her very much, but every time they try to get milk out of her, none comes out." then my mom asked her, "When is the best time for Mary and her father to milk Old Bess?" A. In the morning. B. In the afternoon. C. At night. or D. Never. My little sister answered B. So is there a comprehension problem that kids can have, or is she just not paying attention??
thnx.

I think that is a bad test question, after reading that little story, i didnt even notice a time of day because that is not an important part of the story. Infact now that i read it back, you never said when they milk the cow. if you want to check her for comprehension after that story as her, "why was Marry sad?"
