Hi all,
I am shopping around for mini fridges for my dorm room, and I've seen some with and without compressors. I'm wondering what it does differently from without, nd if it's better to have one with or without (for my room conditions).
Thanks,
Me!
Update:And is it better, for a mini fridge around 2 cu ft., to have a compressor or not in my dorm room?

Instead of using a compressor they use a DC peltier device. They are smaller, worse at cooling and less energy efficient than a fridge with a compressor. They also tend to be much more expensive. They are quiet though. I'd get one with a compressor unless you want an extra small fridge for some reason. As a bonus you can usually find these used on craig's list for cheap and they still work great.
