Yesterday (or the day before I'm not sure) some water spilled on my laptop (HP) on the keyboard I don't think it was a lot and when i found out, I took it and held it upside down until whatever spilled would drop back out.
But ever since then it's been running really really slow. I can barely log on at times and after i do, it starts to freeze with the simplest tasks like opening a folder. I can't even do a scan to check to see if theres another cause because it just freezes and I have to forcefully shut it off (holding the power button)
I can't afford, right now to take it in to get fixed, is there anything someone can suggest? Thanks in advance for the help.
Update:tried the blow drying thing (without taking it off) but i'm just gonna wait it out just in case..Im starting to think its a software and not a hardware problem anyway...
btw.. I myself, did not spill the water and it was an accident

It is possible that it just needs to be opened up and air dried
with a hair blower. If you are lucky.
Do not attempt to take out the 11 or so crews on the bottom
without FIRST removing the battery and being sure the thing is unpluged.
ALSO, have yourself grounded. (You can tie a wire to your
wrist and attach the other end to the carpet.)
IF you really want to do this, Don't make it a quick effort. At least 30 minutes of hot air. (Much like some of my other answers.)
try to narrow it down to software or hardware. boot in safe mode is the problem still there? If so it is mostly a hardware problem. go to hp's website and get instuctions on removing the keyboard off the laptop. with a can of air blow everything out and let it dry open for a couple of days. Then put everything back together and hope for the best

Unfortunately there is no answer - unless you can get it fixed - i spilled a pint of water over my last laptop and that was it! I sent it back to the manufacturer who replaced the keyboard at £47 + VAT but it never really worked properly after that either..... just had to get a new one! Sorry.
you should double check and make sure it is completely dry, if not, take a blow drier and put it on low and dry the water. If that doesn't work, do not close your laptop for a few days and let it get some air.
you can get one of your computer person friends to do a remote access. [email protected] i have an hp as well. spilling it on your keyboard should not affect the system seeing as it is two completely different things. if it is still inder warranty try and get them to look at it. you can get cd's which have a self running cleaner on it so you dont need to initialize it. look that up because that might be the only way to fix it.
If you spilled water in your computer there is really nothing you can do but let it dry out for a week until it's completley dry inside otherwise you can seriously hurt your computer or even fry it. Take it to a computer tech to see if they can do anything.
Blow dry it .. it may just be wet inside .. or use that air in a can stuff!
take the keys off and let it dry then that should help
Dont drink water over your keyboard!!??
new laptop
