computer trouble?
my computer went through a phase where it would randomly shut off when i used it. now when i hit the power button the monitor and keyboard don't work. also the fan runs really loud when it is on. the computer is around 3 years old. what might the problem be?
Update:how much would the parts generally cost
and how can i reboot it if the monitor does not display anyhting?

I'm suspecting that your fan was not working and it burned out your CPU. Depending on the type of computer, the CD's that came with it most likely has a disk utility that might be able to test parts of your hadware.
Sounds like a virus!
