without commenting or going into details on what you wanting to do,
if you need to connect the laptop hard drive to your desktop, the only way i see possible is extrernally
put it into an enclosure & connect to another computer via usb

just make sure the laptop hard drive is ide connected, if sata > then please make sure that enclosure is for sata type
connection as slave in desktop is not possible as notebook & desktop hard drives use different cable terminations
specifically, the laptop HD is larger in measurement, there are extra area in laptop. on a similar time, it run quicker simply by fact the latest technologies is less complicated to stay with with out on the subject of the measurement. many of the time the laptop HD is low-value than a similar grade of pc HD. on the different hand, the pc HD is smaller with decrease area accessible for the pc. The HD's are frequently slightly slower and extra costly. i do no longer project the manufacture will positioned a pc in a working laptop or laptop. by look, the pc HD's would be a plastic face with metallic plate interior, and the laptop are likely a metallic case with plastic rack to settle to the CPU container.
