American politics is all a show, the world is the stage. Ron Paul is the last hope before the US descends into more tyranny. NDAA, enemy expatriation act, all those internet bills, someone please convince me democracy is real.
When you try to make the case that "All" of any group are anything with "No Exceptions", you are showing that you are a very closed minded individual.
When I was growing up, we used to say, "Don't trust anyone over 30", and "Question Authority". We made little distinction between Republican and Democrat. Because we were young and idealistic, and because the Democrats told us what we wanted to hear, we believed them and supported people like McGovern and Carter - until we learned that they were really no different than the Republicans we so liked to demonize.
I still believe that we should question authority - ALL authority - when you fall in lockstep behind a person and say things like you just did in your question, you allow for the development of some very dangerous political movements.
In the 1920's and 1930's that's what happened to Germany. Their government had collapsed, their economy had collapsed, their society had fallen into moral and spiritual decay. They fell in behind a charismatic leader, a great orator, one who promised greatness for their country once more. They got Adolf Hitler.
I am NOT comparing Obama to Hitler, as so many ignorant people do - I AM saying that when you close your mind to dissent, when you refuse to use your intellect to consider philosophical differences between parties and politicians, you pave the way for the rise of destructive parties like the Nazis.
There is a big difference between a healthy suspicion of politicians and a blanket belief that all of one party are sociopaths. Be very careful.
Douglas Adams once said,
"It is a well-known fact that those people who must want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it. To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job. To summarize the summary of the summary: people are a problem."
