Lexapro is an antidepressant. Adderal is a stimulant. Both make you feel better but in different ways. Lexapro removes the inhibitions that prevent a person from enjoying life. Adderal increases activity and thoughts (unless you are a prepubescent kid, then it slows you down). Adderal decreases appetite, Lexapro increases it. Adderal is shorter term than Lexapro, though both are longer than Methilyn, also commonly prescribed for the same symptoms.
If your doctor prescribed both, I would assume you have ADHD with an element of deprression, which is pretty common. Don't worry about overlapping effects. They work on different parts of the brain to effect different behaviours.
