I looked into your repair and upgrade manual:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?...
There is nothing in this book that tells me anything about your CPU or motherboard capabilities.
However, I found this:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docnam...
It says:
Must select one of the following options:
•Celeron E1400 (C) (2.0GHz /800 MHz) 512 KB L2 cache (65W)
•Pentium E2180 (C) (2.0GHz /800 MHz) 1 MB L2 cache
•Pentium E2200 (C) (2.2GHz /800 MHz) 1 MB L2 cache
So the answer is no, you won't get a quad core (a "Q" processor) to work on it.
It depends on the pins and what the motherboard will support.
