Awww...Those are cute names!!! I have a Pug too. His name is Rosco. He is 13 months old and loves to play fetch. Rosco will play fetch until I can't throw the ball anymore. lol My other Pug is named Rambo. He is Rosco's brother. They are both fawns. I honestly don't think Rambo even knows his name. lol He isn't very bright, but very easy going. BamBam is my third Pug. He is just a month older than Rosco and Rambo, at 14 months old. He is also a fawn. BamBam is so cute. He is the sweetest little Pug man you will ever meet. My fourth Pug is Boomer. He is BamBam's brother. As anybody who has Pugs knows, they are like potato chips. You can't have just one!! Boomer is very cute. I love Pugs. I feed them all Honest Kitchen Embark. It is a really good food. But, it is very expensive. They are worth it though. They are all indoor dogs. Pugs can't live oustide. But, I would never want them to live outside. Dogs belong inside. All dogs, not just Pugs. I've trained all them in basic obedience. It was hard at first. But, I made sure to keep everything humane. The were terrors when they were puppies. I trained them all by myself. When I was housetraining them I had to take them out once every two hours. After they went outside I praised them. I never once used a crate. Now I take them all for walks four times a day. Well, actually twice...but a dog walker comes by twice during the day while I am at work.
omg I think those names are adorable. I like Pugs. I have an American Eskimo Dog. His name is Watson. He looks like a pure white husky. Watson is a Minaiture American Eskimo Dog. The Miniatures are my favorite size. He plays hard and loves vigorous exercise. Watson is a good watchdog too. He is a very bright dog. Watson likes to run around the house like a crazy dog. He will also jump up on me when he wants attention. He did this more when he was a puppy, but still does it sometimes. He has serious seperation anxiety. Once when I was gone for five hours at a party, he destroyed my entire couch. I've never left him alone that long again. But, Watson will do whatever he wants. I have to get mad at him for him to stop bad behavior. He hates all people he doesn't know. Watson sheds all over the place. He barks a lot too. But, I love him. He is my baby. I wouldn't trade him for anything in the world. I use a nylon harness on him when I walk him. I would never use a choke collar. He wears an Easy Walk harness because he pulls. I take him to the dog park every morning. I let him have fun and be himself, not treat him like a soldier, like a lot of self proclaimed "good owners" do. Watson is neutered. He has been neutered since he was 8 weeks old. I neutered him the day after I got him. When he got kennel cough I took him to the vet the same day. I feed Honest Kitcehn Embark, not that yucky stuff you can get from Walmart. I would never use a shock collar on him or an electric fence. I use positive training methods.
i think pits are cuter. my friend has a pit mix and he is sooo adorable. im not a big fan of pugs myself. if you are considering buying a dog dont look at how they look as a puppy only because in a year they wont be puppies anymore also you have to consider the differences in the dogs. the size and the difficulty of raising the different breeds. pugs are smaller and less temperamental than pits. pugs also tend to have breathing problems because their noses are so squished so that could cost some in vet bills (the result of humans breeding for a particular look in a dog) a pit will require much more dedication in training and depending on where you live it might be illegal to own one also they are very strong so you would have to be able to hold on if it pulls(not easy ive tried). however a bigger dog is (in my opinion) more fun to play with, and better watch dogs. and if you train a pit right they can be one of the most loyal dogs ever.
I don't have a Pug, but I like the names Pudgie and Fudgie. I have a 4 month old Affenpinscher named Oscar. He is all black and weighs only two pounds. He is absolutely beautiful. Oscar is so very small. I also have Oscar's brother. His name is Puddles. He is pure black too. He is a little smaller than Oscar, at about 1 pound 14 ounces. He is gorgeous. I love Affenpinschers. They are my favorite dogs. I like them because they are small. They are so easy to carry. They also don't take up much space. They look like little wirey coated terriers. They are spunkier than most toy dogs too. This is because of their terrier background. Affens take themselves very seriously. It is amusing to watch. lol Affenpinschers make good watch dogs. They don't need a lot of exercise either. They don't shed very much. But, they are very fragile. I have to be very careful because my puppies are so small. Affenpinschers are suspicious towards strange people and dogs. They are stubborn too. They have a mind of their own. They need regular brushing and trimming of their wiry coat. Also, Affens are difficult to housebreak.
i think a pug would be a great dog and i like the name fudgie better but i also like the name fudge but it will be you dog not mine so i would go with the fudgie or the one i picked out
I think those names are cute. I have a black Pug named Jackson. He is 16 months old. I bought Jackson from an AKC show breeder. I paid $2150 for him. I also have a Pug named Chase. He is fawn with a black mask. Chase is only 9 months old. He weighs 18 pounds. He cost me $1650. My mom owns Chase's brother, Cash. He is also a fawn with a black mask. Just like Chase, Cash weighs 18 pounds. She only paid $1495 for him though. But, that is because his tail only has a single curl, instead of a double curl. He is still precious! I have a third Pug named Aden. He is a brindle. Aden is only 6 months old. He already weighs 16 pounds though! He is a show quality and I paid $1495 for him. My mom use to own his brother too. She called him Conner and he was a brindle too. But, sadly, Conner was found to have bone cancer. My mom had him put to sleep because he was in so much pain and only getting worse. I miss that little guy! My best friend also owns one of Cash's brothers. His name is Smokie. He is a silver Pug. Like Cash, Smokey is also 9 months old. He weighs 16 pounds. Cash's other brother belongs to my mom's friend who moved to Oregon. She named him Simon. He is a silver Pug, like Smokey. He too is 9 months old. Just as his brothers do, he weighs 16 pounds. She paid $1495 for him too. I'm not sure where Cash's other brother, Fred, went. He was a fawn, like Cash. He was so cute. Fred was a lot of fun to play with. He was one of the sweetest puppies too. He also had another brother named BamBam. He was also a fawn. BamBam loved to have his tummy rubbed. He was so outgoing and the first to do everything. BamBam was super smart and had already started to learn housetraining before leaving the breeder. The last of Cash's brothers was Barney. He was a fawn. The entire litter was males. I almost took Barney too, but decided that I should only get one at a time. Barney was cute. I am currently considering buying another Pug. His name is Riley. He is a show quality fawn boy with a black mask. He is 13 months old and weighs 18 pounds. The breeder kept him back as a breeder, but decided to sell him.
Very cute. I want one sooooo bad, but my mom doesn't want a dog and she thinks pugs are ugly, but in 4 more years once i'm 18 i'll move out and buy one lol. :] so for now i'll Dream Big lol
I agree with Dog Lover. Please rescue a dog. There are so many purebred Pugs in rescue. There are a lot of puppies too. I was surprised with the number of links Dog Lover gave!
I have a Pug. His name is Otis. I adopted him from DFW Pug Rescue. He is fawn. Otis is 17 months old.
Pugs are small dogs. They are sturdy and blocky. This breed is also chunky. Pugs have round heads and short faces. They have large expressive eyes and a wrinkled forehead.
I have been considering adopting another Pug named Rex. He is fawn with a black mask. Rex is 13 months old. He weighs 18 pounds. He is also at the DFW Pug Rescue.
Pugs have really soft coats. Their coats are short too. This breed is calm and dignified. Pugs are lively and playful. They are usually dependable with people and other pets.
Pugs seldom get into mischief. Adults spend most of the day snorning. This breed is stubborn though. Pugs have a mind of their own. They will snort too.
I use different words, sounds, hand signals for each of my puppies. If the commands are not working, I change them. I do not beat, yell, or rub their nose in pee. I don't use the command "no" because it confuses puppies. The words, "know, no" come up in conversation, and it confuses them, I use something like "shame" or "ssht" or "off" or "settle down" or whatever that puppy responds to. Some I use signs from sign language, some I use thumbs up hand signal if I want them to continue what they are doing, or a shake of a finger like I am scolding them, if I don't want them to continue what they are doing. I was taught that puppies/dogs want to please you, so I focus on that. I teach them what behaviors I allow and what ones I don't allow and remember to praise good behavior so they keep doing it. There isn't a right or wrong answer in my world, what works for one puppy might not work for another. I do a lot of things you would find farmers do with their dogs, it doesn't have to make sense in my world, it just has to work. My neighbor calls the ducks with a duck call and they come. I burp on the way down to the pond and the ducks come for me when I burp. It doesn't have to make sense, it just has to work. I want to train my angel dolls, I don't want them to be terrified of me, and I don't have to make them terrified of me to get them to please me, just like I didn't have to make my troops terrified of me to get the job done. I address a behavior the second it starts, each time it starts as many times as it takes until I win the war. I realize my IQ doesn't matter, diplomas and awards don't matter, I am about to do battle with an 8-week-old puppy who is already smarter than I am, and hopefully at the end of training, they are trained, and I have the very smallest amount of sanity left
