You can be tested at any time at the discretion of the military, even in DEP. If you are an occasional user count on 30-45 days to get it out of your system. If you are a heavy user - which you are likely to be - then it can take 4-6 months

The importance of pot in your life means that even if you sneak past you WILL piss hot at a later date and you will not like the discharge you get.

If pot means that much to you - that you are torn between a potential life career and getting high - you have no place in the military, ever. You are psychologically addicted and you have no place in any branch of the military.

I hope you get caught and never get to endanger any real Marines.

I was in the Army in the '80s. Before my initial physical at the MEPS, I toned down on the weed a bit. I was a DEP for exactly a year, and pretty much smoked up until I left for basic.

Once we got there, in practically 30 days on the dot, they gave us our first piss test. Our drill sergeant clearly told us that we were given that time to get it out of our systems. I mean, hell, they knew that somebody about to leave for basic is gonna wanna party. I know I sure as hell did--after my high school graduation, I only had about 10 days before I had to ship out, so I partied like a rock star.

But like I said, I wasn't a Marine, and this was a different era--so maybe my advice isn't the best.

Just blaze it as much as you want. The Marine Corps will be flexible to your needs.
