I plan on majoring in psychology, and I'm really interested in neuroscience. I've been accepted to both schools with scholarships; DePaul has offered me the presidential scholarship, and Loyola has offered me the "Damen Scholarship" which is a couple grand less. Either way I'm getting a lottt of money from both schools.
I absolutely love Chicago and I know I want to be there for college. I've visited the campuses twice each and I like them both for different reasons. I tend to hear that people at DePaul are a bit happier, and though I don't think I'll be toooo much of a partier, I still want to be somewhere fun.
I like that Loyola has a hospital attached to it, but does that really make so much of a difference in undergrad? Also, Loyola has the option for a Neuroscience minor, and it seems like a bit better of a program than at DePaul. However, I'm pretty sure they're both comparable.
I love that both schools have a focus on service & helping others, I enjoy volunteering and think they would both be great atmospheres.
Ahhhhh I have no idea which school to choose! I'm also applying to Northwestern (love that school.. but its ridiculously expensive and they don't give merit scholarships). I keep going back and forth. Any thoughts you have would be sooo helpful!
Thanks in advance :D

I go to Loyola, so naturally I hate De Paul. Come to Loyola. We have a better psych program. Oh, and don't let anyone around here know that you think Loyola and De Paul are comparable. Our student body is far and above that of De Paul's. I've been there a number of times to randomly catch up with old friends. I was not impressed with their student body. 'F*g' and 'a**hole' get thrown around a lot. They seemed trashy to me. Also, DU has more commuters.
At Loyola, drinking and going out isn't totally uncommon. I mean, it happens. It just happens in small amounts at a time. Most clubs I'm in throw 2 or 3 parties a semester and I have fun at those. Like you, I chose a school that wasn't too wild. Loyola is a good fit if you PRIMARILY like to learn, and secondly like to have a little fun on the side.
