My question is in regards to United States Federal Law, not any individual state. My brother has been charged with 7 felonies. We know what the actual charges are, and nothing more. He wants to plead guilty to everything. If he pleads guilty, is there any way we can know the details of what he did? He won't talk to us, and even though my parents are paying for his attorney, the attorney can't tell us much, because my brother is his actual client, and as such, has not given permission for him to talk to us. Since it is a family member, naturally we have many unanswered questions.
Update:My question must not be clear enough. I know what he is charged with. I didn't want to state it here, but he has been charged by the Federal Government with possession of Child Pornography. As stated, I know what the charges are. If he pleads guilty, public record would state possession of child pornography. But as a family, we want more answers. Was it little children, or was it teenage children he was looking at? If he simply pleads guilty, would the evidence that was collected for his case become public record? Obviously the photos and videos would be destroyed, as well they should be. But as a family, we want answers to our questions. Will the actual charges be the only information we receive with a guilty plea?
