Did anyone else lose a ferret to an illness?

I just lost my ferret (Chuck) that I had for 3 years and he passed away yesterday afternoon in my arms. Even though I was never able to get him to get blood work done on him when he first started getting sick 2 months ago, I'm most certain he had insulinoma. The first time he got sick he stopped eating and had lost weight compared to how he was before. He was chubby and full of energy. I took him to the vet and she had suggested that he might had gotten sick because I had changed his food to Wal-Mart brand and we always bought him the Marshall food. But I had to force feed him with a syringe and gave me amoxicillin and Metronidazole. Which had seem to help because 2 days later he started eating on his own. Although his poop never got better, he kept pooping liquidy but not black anymore. Well just this past weekend I saw him even more energized than ever because he was clibing his cage and he was biting and playing with his toys, and walking everywhwere. Regardless of that, 2 days later I noticed he stopped eating and just sleep all day, and I took him to see if he would walk and he couldn't walk anymore. He was dragging his body with his little hands barely because he couldn't move his back legs anymore. I then gave him some water with a little bit of sugar and he drank a little but didn't make a difference. He started getting seizures because he kept breathing weird and shacking. After a while he kept weeping low. On my way to the vet he died. I really want some assurance that he had insulinoma but now I will never know. Anyways, I'm getting him cremated and he will be ready Monday. It really sucks and hurts so much. I will not get another pet after this, its too heartbreaking. I wonder if anyone else has a second legit idea as to what happen to him?
