I have another question.... if I want a blonde darker...could I use my 12.2 LV ION color with peroxide 20 instead of 30? I don't like 30, I feel it dries hair so much.
10 Volume is used when less lightening is desired to enhance a clients natural color.
20 Volume: The standard volume. Used to achieve most results with permanent hair color and used for complete grey coverage.
30 volume: used for addional lift with permanent hair color
40: Used with most high ligt colors to provide maximum lift in a one step color.
Just to add: 40 and 30 are usually used to bleach. 40 volume is the strongest out of the developer, and wouldn't ever use it, unless you were trying to lift black hair.
The first numbers are the winter weights, when it gets cold out.... the lower the number the thinner the oil.... the difference between 30 and 40 is also the weight, 40 is heavier.... most cars recommend 5W30 these days.
