uh... yes that would be awkward. those are used for food. and they have teeth, i remember cutting them off before giving them to my leopard gecko (harsh i know, but i was so worried that it would munch on my gecko) they have teeth and one time i put my finger in its mouth and it did bite (but obviously since i was holding it and about to give it to my gecko)
I personally have never been bitten by one and I have been feeding them to my frogs/salamanders for years. They do feel creepy crawling on you but their bugs so that's to be expected lol
Some species DO bite, but I'm pretty sure it's not the kind they sell as food at pet stores. It's most likely some wild species. And even if they do, i'm sure its not very painful. Crickets are omnivores, and will cannibalize any weak or sick crickets. They mostly eat organic materials, decaying plant material, fungi, and seedling plants. Crickets live under rocks and logs in the wild, so shelter would be good for a pet one. Their interesting to watch really, so a pet one might be pretty cool.
Also, I soak cotton balls in water and drop them in with my crickets because they need water. I feed mine fish flakes. which they really like.

I have never been bitten by a cricket, and anyway, you really shouldn't be handling them.
I can lay my hand in the cricket bin and it will be completely covered by crickets and all I feel is their legs crawling.
