What matters is the coursework you've taken, not the degree title. You can actually have a degree in <fill in the blank> but not be qualified to enter the relevant doctoral program because you did not opt to take the right types of courses, but instead took the easy ones that don't count. For example, if you wish to attend a Ph.D program in econ, you need to have taken substantial upper division math courses-- those courses are not part of the normal econ path, so if you never took them, you have no chance of entry.
I don't know that either would look down up it because the employer's needs and the school's degree program require two different approaches.
Once you are accepted to graduate schoo in a program of a department, they offer courses that either fit your proposed area of eventual work or not. Occasionally, and as a part of most graduate level study, there is independent study and "research" categories that allow one to design and present a course of study that can be and must be department approved. If that is the case, you get a good mix of the traditional course of study with your own interests being approved and credited as independent or "research" in the field of your study. It depends on the school and your willingness to work within the system or program. Choose a school that will support your dreams and intention.
As for employers, your grades and course work, whether designed or traditional, won't matter as much as the position title or skills that you bring to the prospective employer. They don't care whether you designed the program or not. They only care that you have the stuff that meets their needs and that your college or graduate transcripts are verifiable. Naturally, you will research potential employers and know what they are looking for. Hope this helps.
Not at all. Traditional majors such as finance and english are programs that require a certain number of credits to graduate. Within the programs there are simply too many classes to take, and these classes vary from school to school. Graduating from college is enough as it shows employers that you can be taught to a certain level and that you are dedicated to learning.
anybody is rapid to decide and dont take it gradual to quite understand your subject. All they see is a irresponsible youthful youngster having young babies like a rabbit with out experience of accountability. as long as you maintain your head up and save shifting forward you shouldnt permit this hardship you. there'll consistently be a critic, yet nonetheless it quite is all they're! basically you and your fiance understand the actuality and that's all that concerns. Dont permit your age discourage you. I have been given married at 19 years previous, I easily have 2 young babies and that i've got been married for 5 happy years!
