well girl i got my cartilage pierced like a couple months ago, and let me tell you IT DIDNT HURT AT ALL! now im not like some kinda weird goth/emo person who can take pain, actually, I cant take pain at all! i was liek expecting to cry and all but really, i didnt even notice when the lady pierced it..and im not just saying this, but i even asked her if she was gonna pierce it any time soon, WHEN SHE ALREADY HAD! hahah so people who say it hurts obviously have never had it done before :) good luck and dont be nervous or scared like i was, its not even worth it..but to kinda answer your question a little more, it does hurt just a little the next day and when you sleep on it, but it doesnt hurt when you actually get it pierced.. and plus, after like 5 days to a week, you cant even feel it anymore, unless it gets infected, but i never had that problem, so take good care of it, and you'll be finee :)

Any kind of cartilage piercing is going to hurt significantly, for at least a month after.

Nope, mine really didn't hurt! It was the healing process that really killed, though, especially when trying not to snag it on clothes.
