Do Non Canon lenses work with a Canon SLR Rebel XS Camera?
I want to buy a macro lens and all the Canon lenses are very expensive. So i wanted to buy a lens from another company. I am just wondering if it will work?
Tamron and Sigma do make Canon-mount lenses... just make sure the lens that you're looking at specifiies "Canon mount only" or "for Canon" or something like that. here is an example - http://www.amazon.com/Sigma-50mm-Macro-Canon-Camer...

Sigma Tamron and Tokina all do good thrid party macros, at keener prices than the canon branded lens, just get a Canon EF mount.
Or a used Canon 50mm f2.5 macro.
Only if they have the Canon EF or EF-S mount.
I would caution you about this. I would be willing to wager that no one told you that photography is a cheap hobby... it's not.
The higher the price of the lens the better the quality of the glass in that lens. Buy cheap, you're going to get cheap.
