Tires are all the same when it comes to miles per gallon. More depeneds on your lead foot than anything else. There are tires that claim they will save you money but most of it is just hype and B S . Your best bet is to keep the tires inflated to the maximum and have the vehicle tuned up regularly and keep a clean fuel filter in the fuel line and lift your foot and drive a few miles per hour slower and lift your gas pedal foot at the apex of the hill.
Shopping at Walmart, ay? Well, the Goodyear Tracker 2 is decent on fuel economy but gets very low marks on tread wear and wet traction. Don't expect to get much more than 25k miles out of a set.
Rogers answer isgenerally pretty acurate. I disagree about them "all being the same" The 'bolder and more open' the tread does impact fuel consumption negitively, albeit minimally.
