vitamins are needed in your body BUT ultimately calories provide energy. a calorie is energy. something with 0 calories means 0 energy. that's why high sugar high calorie chocolate bars give you a sugar rush but why does high calorie burgers not give you the same effect?
it matters what type of chemicals are in it.
carbohydrates can be used up very fast and but things like fat (which is also energy) is used up very slowly. thats why eating lots of sugar and eating fatty foods give you different results even though there both filled with energy
Yes, you can get supplements for body building which are protein dense, and others which are energy dense; then the more familiar ones provide vitamins and minerals and so I'm guessing you may also find ones with phytochemicals although I couldn't name one off the top of my head. But a single multivitamin doesn't contain all of the above.
I don't know much about that, but what I do know is that I did this program called the Advocare's 24 day challenge and felt absolutely amazing! I had more energy then my kids. An added bonus, I lost 12lbs and 2 pant sizes in the same 12 days.
Vitamins are materials your body needs to function. If you are lacking in say c you will developed scurvy after a time. If there are more materials in your body then it needs it get flushed down the loo. Getting 1,000 time your need only improves the amount of vitamins in the water.
