When we sleep, do we use energy? When we sleep, we still need our heart to pump the blood, and we often toss and turn around. We use energy. But why is that so that when one wakes up, he/she will feel refreshed and replenished with energy? Yet if someone doesn't sleep, he/she will feel tired and people will often persuade him/her to take a rest(sleep). But we DO use energy, so WHY do we get all the new energy from?. Yes, you may say sleeping. I know that! But why do we get energy when we sleep? Take it that someone did not eat before he/she sleeps so we do not get the energy from our food, but why do we still feel energized after a sleep?

Yes, our body always uses energy as long as we are alive. But the brain uses a lot more energy than the body when we are not extremely active, proportionately. So when the majority of our brain shuts down during deep sleep, it is like turning down the furnace to the pilot light. the Flame is still burning, but at a lot lower level. Think of the extra energy saved like it is recharching your brain's batteries.
u have a tank where u store ur excess energy and is converted into complex sugar which when in need is just reconverted into energy by a simple biochemical conversion.
remember when u eat food they say we have
Carbohydrarte
Protein
Fats and Oils
Each one above has its uses in the body and human body can store carbohydrate and Fats which are the main sourses of energy while protein the body will not be able to store any excess, and is used for body building not energy as u know that . excess protein is converted and excreated in urine.
I'm trying to think of a simple way to explain this: sleeping is like taking your car to the mechanic for a servicing. There are certain things that need to be done with cars: you need to change the oil filter, you need to add some radiator coolant, check the brakes, brake fluid etc. This makes your car easier to run
What happens if you don't take your car for a tune up? It will still run, but it will run ineffectively. The car engine will get to hot. The car will start backfiring. The brakes won't work.
Same with the body. It needs to cool down a bit and rest. Muscles are created during this time. All sorts of things happen will you sleep - it is pretty much like having your body serviced. If you don't service your body it will break down. If you don't sleep for 11 days, you risk dying.
Yes, it does take energy sleeping. But your body needs to fix itself up, otherwise it won't survive.
Sleeping is like going to the mechanic. I hope that clears things up.
The body needs to rest and rejuvenate, the body heals faster when we sleep too. You also lose weight when you sleep... all these things because,
we are not concentrating on moving, talking, thinking, laughing, working our muscles and such.
Talking about sleep; I need to go to bed.
the brain has has had a rest and is refreshed, we burn calories even in our sleep
that is called screeen server mode..
when we sleep our organs take rest except the breath..therefore if you want to have fast better have it in the nights...
minimal energy yes but we still do use it. to keep heart beating, liver working, kidneys going, etc. to keep your body functioning and keep you alive.
yes.
no.....we watch tv while we sleep...
