Growing up I was constantly being told I was the ugliest person in the world and after so long I believed it. I guess some days are always better than others but it is hard to get over being picked on so much.
Yes, because even though I am not in the first flush of youth, I still take good care of my total physical appearance, my general health, and the way I present myself to the world. It's not about the most perfect skin, or the most physically magnificent bit of body sculpture. It's about the total package, and demeanor. It's about the way you stand, and look somebody in the eye, and smile with warmth and friendliness. It's about the way you interract with others, and talk and move with confidence and self assurance.
Any half-brained doofus can be just physically attractive (take Paris Hilton as an example, and even then she ain't all that) But to be truly "good LOOKING" you have to present a total attractive appearance and that, my friend, goes to many aspects of personality beyond the level of the skin.
Yes, because I've been told so (by both men and women) and because I see a 10 when I look in the mirror. I guess a girl knows that she's good looking when young girls tell her she looks like a Disney princess (Belle and Cinderella).
