I enjoy both. I found an online jigsaw site that is fun. http://www.jigzone.com/gallery
I think anything that exercises the mind is especially good for Senior Citizens. What games do you enjoy and do you have any sites that you would recommend online?
Update:freerice.com is also another good site that feeds the world while you increase your vocabulary.

Yes. I've been doing jigsaws on Jigzone for quite some time. I play bridge at Yahoo games. I buy crossword books. I haven't done any on line yet. I play cards and other games with friends. It's good for your brain to keep it active. A great game for making you think is Rummykub. It's for two to four players and is a great game.
I have done cross word puzzles for years. I even buy the soft cover books you can find almost everywhere. At home we have a jigsaw puzzle table set up and there is almost always a puzzle being put together there. Hubby likes card games he finds on the internet. Good and quiet fun. Poppy
Neither. I prefer the "Fill-It-Ins." I have trouble trying to think like those who make the clues for crossword puzzles... I guess my word-associations are different from theirs... so that frustrates me terribly. Jigsaw puzzles are okay, IF I had the ROOM to spread them out and keep them "going" for days on end.
Have a Seasoned day.
I have done the Free Rice before, don't care for the others but once a month i get a jigsaw puzzle sent to me by e mail that after it is put together you can use it for your background. Now i have a big Easter Bunny on it.
I love Jigsaws and use the Big Jig Site a lot, They are full screen Jigsaws and you can change the size and the cut of the pieces to suit your self.

I love crossword puzzles. I get the books from The Herald Tribune, the English version, and I do a puzzle every day.
I also enjoy Scrabble - and there is a web site : pogo.com/scrabble
where you can play for free.
I have not tried it yet, but plan to soon.

Jigsaw yes.
We have made our own for years and made gifts for the kids of them.
Started with a Pinochhio puzzle years ago when we couldn't afford to buy them. Now it is a tradition for some of the younger ones.
I do jigsaw puzzles for two reasons: 1) because I can't put frames on my wall so can't frame the pictures I draw, and 2) because I can't afford pictures for my wall and jigsaw puzzles are cheap, plus they give you something to do in your spare time.
Never did like word games. I prefer art, photography, pulling recipes and consulting.
My mind is absolutely no good for jigsaw puzzles.
But crosswords, now that's another matter.
*Can I brag just a wee bit, as Suzie would say???*
I am very good at crosswords. I love doing them!
I have been a newspaper crossword puzzle since the 60's and do the Washington Post Newspaper and NY Times EVERY DAY.
I love them because not only does it rev up the brain cells, I learn things I never knew before by eventually solving and then looking up the answers that maybe I knew nothing about. THAT is what energizes me...LEARNING
