I'm wondering, how often do any of you experience homophobia? I see it and hear it fairly often. Does it make you angry, or do you shrug it off?
This question was prodded by a homophobic *** posting a homophobic question and trying to quantify it with reference to religion. But any religion that's good promotes brotherly love, not hate.

Only on this site. Crazy, huh?
not lots homophobic yet i've got had truly some transphobic incidents via the years. not something actual in basic terms verbal abuse etc. It could be approximately 2 years when you consider that i've got had any difficulty & my passabillity has enhanced truly. The scariest got here approximately some time in the past not a approaches from the place I stay. i might parked the vehicle up on the seafront & long gone for a stroll. as quickly as I back there became a set of lads eyeing up something & each and every thing remotely woman. that they had needless to say ate up copious quantities of alchol. the priority became there became a woman in the group that clocked me and took great exhilaration informing her male buddies that who they the place gawping at wasnt truly what they concept. I controlled to get myself in the vehicle and locked the doorways till now any hassle could happen. yet became subjected to there faces pressed against the homestead windows, comments, handsignals and alsorts till now I have been given into equipment and drove off. I kinda see the humorous area yet is could so truly have been lots worse if I hadnt circulate so straight away.
I remember my first experience of it. I was a little girl still maybe 13 and I was a tomboy. At the time I didn't know I was gay but apparently my cousin and his christian family thought so. I would sometimes visit my cousins and attend their church, well just to see what all the hype was about.
One time it was just me and my favourite cousin, in the sermon just sitting there. The pasture had mentioned a verse relating to homosexuality and spoke bad of it. My cousin turned to me and said "see, homosexuality is wrong."
Needless to say I no longer looked up to him or considered him my favourite cousin anymore. I am still to this day disappointed in him.
I deal with homophobia all the time at my high school. Kids are always calling each other "gay", "queer", "fag", etc. If someone says "[something] is gay" right in front of me, I ask them to explain how it's "gay", which usually makes them stop. I just ask people not to use those words to mean "stupid" because I find it offensive.
I pretty much only see it here on Y/A! I guess these people don't have the guts to be homophobic to my face. I don't blame them, I wouldn't want my teeth bashed in either.
