I know some really nice people that are just horribly ugly and vice versa.
People look for a blend. Little things can keep someone from being attracted to a person (as a friend or otherwise).
The magic combination is a little of both. The person has to be attractive enough on the inside for you to 'get along' and attractive enough on the outside so you can 'look him or her in the eye'
The more advanced the relationship goes - the more complicated this combination becomes. Some people may be mmore willing for ugly to have a nice person. Others can handle someone's attitude, as that person is beautiful.
I'd say that a study of why one would prefer ugly vs. attitude would most likely get into a "Nature vs. Nurture" discussion if followed with anymore detail so I'll end here, if you really want to go further with my post - I'm open to emails.
of course,,, like a person who dresses like a gang member, no matter what they may say, if they did not want the world to see them as a ang menber, they would not dress like that, we present the image of ourselves exactly as our minds wish.

Read in Your Bible
Isaiah 53
1 Who has believed our message
and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
and like a root out of dry ground.
HE HAD NO BEAUTY or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
3 He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.
Like one from whom men hide their faces
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he took up our infirmities
and carried our sorrows,
yet WE CONSIDERER HIM STRICKEN by God,
smitten by him, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to his own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.

What is ugliness to you? Sublimate.
no, nor do I think it's the other way around.

Hey, I accept with Irishtek. It is a combination of both with a difference in ratio that depends on the individuals....
