Whenever I'm dreaming, and my phone goes off, or my mother plays music loud enough to wake me, it's like my dream molds and places the music as apart of the dream. Like this morning, I was dreaming about someone who sat down at a piano, opened it up, and the second he touched the keyboard, my phone alarm (it's a light harp sound) started to play. As if the sound I was hearing was coming from him playing, not my phone.
It's happened before too.
My guess is that it's already playing but my conscious self isn't registering it because I'm sleeping, but my unconscious self uses it to slowly wake me up.
Weird. What do you think?

Yeah, it happens to me too. As a child, I used to go to sleep listening to music, and I would always dream about the subject matter from the song. Our dreams are often influenced by the environment we sleep in. For example, if the dreamer gets water sprinkled on their face, they'll dream about something related to that, such as rain. Similarly, if a bright light suddenly shines on their face, they might report dreaming about the sun coming out.
Your guess is right, your alarm would have already started playing before you woke up; long enough to impact your dream. Time in regular dreams can seem so erratic.
