Does coffee lose flavor if you put it in different container?
I cleaned out an old container(a tin) that used have maxwell's coffee in it. I wanted to put some green mountain coffee that is now in a bag into that container. Will it lose any flavor?
Coffee should be stored in a clean dry container that is air-tight, away from light, heat and moisture.
Coffee will absorb any odors in the room, and will give/take moisture. Too moist and the coffee may develop mold and bacteria, too dry and the coffee will stale quickly.
Whole bean coffee is freshest up to two weeks from roasting or opening a sealed package, and ground coffee is freshest for only 24 hours after grinding or opening a sealed package. Staleness will be a flat papery quality in the aroma and flavor of the brewed coffee.
Storing coffee in a tin coffee container is OK if you follow the above guidelines.

Over time it will, but it should keep just fine if you keep it in a dark place and air tight.
