Say I mix a 40% liquor with some kind of juice. So its 1/4 liquor and 3/4 juice. Will it lose a lot of potency? If so, does it intensify over a period of time. So after two hours, the mixture keeps losing potency?
Thanks

If you put an ounce of 40% abv vodka in with four ounces of orange juice you will have a beverage with 9% alcohol. 40÷5=9. There is just as much alcohol as there ever was.
no the liquor will be the same, but the ounces of beverage you have will be less potent. For instance three ounces of booze mixed with three ounces of juice is still three ounces of booze at whatever % it was, but the finished product is only half as to the % of alcohol per ounce of beverage. If you drink the whole thing it will be as much alcohol as before but actually hit you faster because of the sugar in the juice
Your mixture will only be a quarter as strong as it will contain only 10% alcohol, but you will have four times as much to the TOTAL AMOUNT of alcohol will remain unchanged.
Yes it does
A double vodka and coke is about 6-8% abv because the vodka is diluted with the coke
If there is anything that is non alcoholic added yes it will most certainty lose its potency esspedially assuming there is ice in the glass if u leave it the ice will melt and it will become watered down. ,
