I believe that yes it does exist. But, not in the way that we see it portrayed in movies and mainstream media. I think the portrayal of "true love" in the media actually damages relationships.
Because even if there is a relationship where there is the feeling of true love, it doesn't mean there won't be mistakes made and feelings hurt.
Love is obviously very important, but people can make selfish choices that hurt people they love and sometimes it's hard to understand why people do that when all you know is what we see on TV.
Respect, communication and love all go hand in hand.
I got married at 20, it's been 5 years and I still love my hubby. I know he loves me, but what I've learned to accept is that people make mistakes and my hubby(who I thought was perfect at first) makes them too.
I believe we are stronger now than before, but I've learned A LOT about myself in those 5 years. I've learned that you have to learn to communicate, you have to learn to listen, you have to have confidence in yourself and not be selfish(which is probably the hardest thing to do).
Confidence is important because if you don't think highly of yourself, over time, your other will start seeing you as you see yourself.
Confidence is something they definitely don't teach in the media and lack of confidence is one of the primary reasons why relationships fail.
Yes I believe that it does exists, however, I have not found it yet. I have witnessed it through my parents they were married for 56 years and papa passed on and still she loves him and he loves her
