I am all for celebrating tradition and heritage, but does calling people white, black etc not promote racism and division in our communities? We are all one race, human.
Sometimes it seems like races and ethnic groups go out of their way to differentiate themselves. Wear different clothes, listen to different music, eat different food. People just prefer to differentiate rather than assimilate.
It is actually an interesting dilemma. This one one average guy's opinion is that we've really regressed in our acceptance and tolerance of diversity. However, in many ways it is a reverse racism that has caused that regression. Now days, it seems minority groups want to be identified among those groups, want to have Black groups, Hispanic groups, or even the left handed lesbian eskimos for gun control groups.
From what I remember Dr. King wanted to be judged on the merits of his ideas and thoughts, not on his color. More and more it seems like we are not becoming a colorless society, but rather even more fragmented with some groups wanting both the total acceptance of the color blind society and the benefits of segregation into an exclusionary group. I don't think you can have it both ways.
However I do also believe there are so called "leaders" out there that pander to members of their race groups and cause a great deal of divisiveness and problems just to maintain their own relevance and paychecks.
Now also look at racism and prejudice. I think in the simplest terms, prejudice is simply a preference. I don't think we can legislate or control those thought actions. Heck my dislike of tea versus coke is a prejudice. If I chose to like someone or want to hang out with one particular group over another, well that is fine. I also think that if you limit yourself to only that, then you are missing out on some great ideas and rather small minded.
On the other hand, racism is taking an advantage over, or away from someone else due to a difference in their race, and that is wrong.
Anyway, this is just one average left handed overweight Caucasian./native american's opinion of things
The problem is not differences or skin color, the problem is the arrogance or feelings of being superior. However, a lot of racism is circumstantial, like when a large number of people together without thinking about the individuals in that group. Kind of like laziness in thinking about the issues of differences.
The dominate group of white Americans our very very very sensitive of any slight they receive no matter how trivial, but when it comes to others, the whites are general uncaring and even down right mean. Issues of equality or inequality always seem to take a back seat to white men and woman while they sniffle and whine, curse and complain and generally point out the problems of being wealthy.
Sorry white America, but you are going to receive just as much caring and concern as you provide for others. You rigged the system so your children get the comforts of a rich nation automatically, and you also in the same breath short change the efforts of not only people of color but people of low income.
Jesus must be ashamed by the white population of America. They fight Wars that are obvious killing efforts and choose to be blind of the facts of war and the causes. Now here is a mislabeling situation. Call killing people, Peace making. Call hating and hurting, sacrifice. Yeah right, just how medieval are these attitudes?
nicely, as a attempt case look at France: formally there are not any 'races' or ethnicities in France, only electorate (as part of the republic all electorate are theoretically equivalent). even as great in theory it does recommend that cultural preconceptions/racism/bias can fester less than the exterior even as being formally left out.
The only people who say "one race, human race" and actually believe in real effects from "racism" (voodoo) are those from the lesser subspecies, the rest are are just liberals who lie to make themselves feel less guilty about being genetically superior to the third-world trogs.
Every culture and every race has racism. We all put each other down from time to time and no race is excluded from this. It's not all about white people.

Human is species.
Race is subspecies.
"Racism" is voodoo.
The only people who say "one race, human race" and actually believe in real effects from "racism" (voodoo) are those from the lesser subspecies, the rest are are just liberals who lie to make themselves feel less guilty about being genetically superior to the third-world trogs.

we just organize people's heritage and culture. There's always going to be racism I'm guilty of some myself but it's not that big of a deal.
