I am entertaining the thought of finance/management dual major or other various pairings, however, I wonder if am I over doing it if I intend on getting my MBA? Also, is there a combination better than fin/man, I do not wish to do accounting, simply because I feel the growth in that area is somewhat limited and I will receive enough accounting in my other classes to have a base knowledge of the subject. Anyways, I would like to think not, it should be an edge on the job market over people with a single degree that would offer less versatility.... Your thoughts?

The best competitive edge you can get is also the easiest one to accomplish...extra curricular activities, community service and sports.
I am going into finance with a Masters degree a 3.8 GPA only to find out no one really cares about grades. Usually your grades are just a prerequisite to qualifying for a position. Heres an example that happened to me just a few weeks ago. BMO capital a middle market I-bank came on campus to interview for an I-banker position. They only took 10 students for first rounds. I didn't make the cut...my friend did. My friend had a lower GPA, never had a job or internship in his life and quite frankly was not qualified for the position. But he got an interview because he was a great athlete in track and field. Why would an investment bank value athletics higher then relevant work experience and better grades?... I don't know but they just do. Since my being declined from BMO I have joined two extra curricular activities and joined an intramural soccer team. I have gotten three interviews in three applications where as before i had no interviews in 12 applications. So do good academically but remember to join clubs and be active in your community.
Yes, i agree with you. If you hold two degrees in hand you will be able to choose either of the fields as career options. Anyways basics of accounts will be covered in the fin/man classes.
i'm not attempting to be impolite to you, yet you have published comparable questions like this daily for the previous weeks or so. you're in user-friendly terms 14, so any tips we provide you may exchange in direction of three years once you certainly word for NYU or a learn in another country application. My advice could be to maintain a extreme GPA, get good SAT/ACT scores, connect golf equipment, and volunteer. do not complication too lots approximately learn in another country classes. I recommend, you will not even get to do them until you're a junior in college, this is like, 6-7 years for you. Are you going to maintain posting those questions until the day you get into NYU certainly comes? =] think of roughly it.
