I sold something on ebay at 5.15pm last night (im in the UK) and I sent the invoice (first time I have sold on ebay by the way) and the buyer has not responded. Now correct me if im wrong but if he bid on something at 5.15 and I sent the invoice straight away surely he would have replied by now? What shall I do?

He may not have been online since, give them a few more days then send a reminder.
Give them some time, be patient, your not gonna lose anything.
Most sellers give 3-5 days depending on the person to send there payment, so not everyone does it straight away and it hasnt even been 24 hours yet.
Wait until wed evening and if you still havent heard anything, send them an message saying they've got til fri evening or something otherwise ull report them and put it back on ebay for sale.
Not necessarily - his bid may have gone in long before then but that is when his bid became the winning one. Also If he may have gone out or had other things to - buyers do not have to respond straight away
I sometimes do not respond for a couple of days as real life gets in the way and i forget about ebay.. but i always pay and apologise if it is more then a couple of days
Give the buyer a few days to respond. Buyers don't always pay for the item when the auction ends. Always mention in your listing that payment must be received within 3 days if paying by paypal and up to 5-7days for postal payments.
Did you put a must pay by date on your advertisement ? I would think two or three days about the right time to get a reply and about 7 days to pay. remember people work and do not always come on line every day. Good that you are so on the ball but do try to be patient and above all kind
Nope your wrong.. give them a chance! they might not pay until tomorrow evening, just because you sent an invoice it doesnt mean they will contact you straight away. It can take several days and if you havent stated payment required within say 24 hours then you will just have to wait. Why the rush, you cant post it today anyway so why should they pay today? Just wait
normally you would give at least few days to respond,i buy a lot from ebay, and i do normally pay it straight away, but there have been times when the items i have bidded and bought and won of coarse,i have been at work and cant reach a computer till my shift is over,or i may have forgot and iv paid the next day or so.things do arise,we cant always sit on the computer.
Yes you must give your customer a chance to respond, most sellers give 3-5 days atleast for payment etc. but any further worries herea a link to eBays New to Selling Help Forum

Calm down. They don't have to pay for at least 10 days and they may not be online. If they still haven't paid within 10 days you can report them to ebay and ebay will give you your listing fee back.
I myself only look back the next day after bidding, just to see how it is going.
I'm not expecting a immediate response from a seller because I think the majority of them isn't on-line 24/7.
So wait a day and see if he/she reacts.
Some buyers take ages in replying and making payment. They have seven days to make payment and if after that time they haven't payed you, you can file an 'unpaid item' claim!
