Yesterday, the adapter to my computer died. I know which aprt is damaged. It is the box part. I also believe I konow why it died. The way it seems to be set up is that it uses a certain type of putty to make a circuit. I know there's wood putty, but what about electrical putty? If I buy MightyPutty, could that do the trick?

No matter how much crack you smoke, it won't fix the adapter, you will have to buy a new adapter.
It sounds like you don't really know what you're talking about, so it could be dangerous. But if you really want to set stuff on fire, get shocked or blow a fuse, go ahead!
First, identify the part that broke. The Wikipedia article on power supplies might help. If you find what the 'box part' is exactly (the putty sounds like it's from a capacitor), you should try to find a fitting replacement of the same specifications. Don't mess up any wire connections inside and disconnect all plugs before doing anything.
The capacitor needs to be soldered to the printed circuit board, so make sure you make a good soldering connection and don't get the polarity (+/-) wrong or you'll ruin your good capacitor!
Sounds a tad shaky, buddy. You're better off scrounging around yardsales , 2nd hand stores for (I'm guessing a new power supply?) and go that route. I mean I suppose you COULD patch a circuit with putty , but I'd have to be damned desperate. Be careful.
they are designed NOT to be repaired, buy a new one, you could do more damage trying to fix it.
no--your going to kill yourself!!!
