Electronegativity refers to an atom's ability to entice an electron in the time of a chemical bond. to be sure bond type, purely subtract the eletroneg values! It the variety is 0 to 0.4 = covalent, 0.40-one-a million.seventy 9 = polar covalent, a million.80 and larger = ionic. (different materials might have gently different selection for the polar covalent....)
