A friend of mine asked me to paint a design on his hard case for his guitar. I usually paint t-shirts, but since this is a different surface, I'm not sure what kind of paint to use. The case material feels like maybe a faux leather or matte vinyl. It has to be something that won't rub or flake off, as the case gets a good bit of wear. My first thought would be enamel paint? Suggestions, anyone?

Enamel or look for a Tandy leather store and pick up some "Cova Color" it comes in about 2 dozen colors and you can mix them to about any color you want. It is very flexible and is made to stick permanently to leather. It also seams to wear well. I have used it to color several things that are carried daily and have not had any returns on them.
I think enamel would be OK because the hard case won't flex and crack the paint.
