That little American girl just mocked me for thinking Sevilla or Valencia (at least Prior to losing both Davids) could possibly beat Arsenal or ManCity...
Are people in this section so ignorant of La Liga that they think the likes of Seville are cr ap? I am not saying they would beat Arsenal or City, but to think they wouldn't have a good chance is plain ludicrous and goes to tell me these people have never even watched Sevilla. It's pure pro-Premiership, anti La-Liga propaganda.
Arsenal aren't even that good FFS. Valencia gave Barcelona a far better game at the Mestalla last season than Arsenal did at the Emirates. And Sevilla beat Real Madrid 2-1 at home in the biggest single goal hammering I have seen in a while, Casillas was immense. And they were 2-0 up away before collapsing and it took a last minute Van cder Vaart goal to defeat them.
But they would just roll over against bottling Arsenal and a City team with a total lack of team cohesion (tonight was against a woeful Liverpool)? Get real.
Update:F-35: It must take creative genius on the level of Picasso to continually post that graphic.
Update 3:To think that similar placed teams from the two best leagues in Europe wouldn't give each other a game is mental.
Update 5:frosty - I completely disagree with you. I think Barca and to a lesser extent Real are much better teams than Chelsea and Man United are right now. Rome proved it in Barca's case, and don't give me 'it was just a bad day' because I have had that argument to death.
And with respect, your Burnley analogy is daft. They were relegated in 19th place. Sevilla finished 4th. Sevilla are a lot closer to Real than Burnley are to United. I can't believe you are comparing La Liga to the SPL<. My team plays in the SPL and Rangers and Celtic are a million miles from Sevilla (as last season showed in the CL0 let alone the Clasico two.
As for poor European performances, the reason Sevilla's coefficient is so high is that they won the UEFA Cup two seasons in a row 2006 and 2007. Something City failed to do. No matter what you say, the Europa League (as it is now) is a good competition and only good teams win it.
Update 7:By the way, I am not really wanting to compare them to Arsenal.
It's when people say Villa, Spurs and City would easily beat Sevilla or Valencia. What exactly have those three done in Europe recently? Spurs might go out to Young Boys and Villa couldn't even make the Europa League proper last season. And those along with Everton are supposed to be the next four after the traditional top four.
I believe Sevilla would fight for 4th or 5th in England. That's a reasonable assessment.
Update 9:By the way, where did I say 'all English'? Nowhere. But I have seen many PL followers use the same argument. Not all, but a lot.
Update 11:frosty - I replied to similar stuff so many times and I weon't bvother with you as it is pointless. I might write up an essay when I can be bothered. As for UEFA (not FIFA in this case, UEFA) rankings,I generall don't care about them, it was Matt who used them as evidence and I merely used his own line of argument against him!!!
Update 13:frosty - anyone with eyes can see that Barcelona's squad and style of football is far superior to United's. I am sure it will be proved this season so why don't you keep it shut, I will do the same, and I will contact you in May.
Update 15:Also, every year it seems to be United and Chelsea top two besides when Liverpool took second.
I have told you that Villarreal finished second in 2007-2008, so no, the 'similarity', is not there.
Both leagues have a similar duopoly.
Update 17:Frosty you chavvy, skinny little idiot, it's one night where I was in a playful mood. If you read through my previous answers you will see plenty of sense, far more than you are capable of you tosser. Don't judge me ona mad ******** question for the lols. I hardly ever troll on here and others do it constantly.
I have refuted points from people like you before. If you think Sevilla couldn't give Arsenal a game and couldn't beat City, Villa or Spurs then you are the fu ck ing idiot you cretin.
Update 19:Your whole argument for Sevilla not being able to Beat the likes of City is that they finished 20 odd points behind Real. How do you know the same wouldn't happen to City?
You're a skinny little chav who probably thinks Rooney is the best striker in the world, Lampard is better than Xavi and Torres better than Villa. Fuc k ing do one, you hideous little dweeb.

Spanish bitterness of UEFA coefficient ratings...
1) If you aren't Spanish then why do you give a flying f*ck? Jesus, just enjoy the football for f*cks sake.
2) I was talking about the leagues in general. Tool.
edit:
1) Then good for you, if you like it, why do you constantly feel the need to defend it? If the Premier League was ranked bottom of the pack i couldn't give a toss.
2) Seville would not beat Arsenal away from home.
EDIT:
Not really, you see, not 'all English' are anti La Liga. I supported Spain all the way through the cup not including England (for obvious reasons) as i think they are the greatest football nation around at the moment. I don't think there is a team in existance who can beat Barcelona when they really want it and Messi is the best player in the world right now. Followed by Ronaldo.
But Arsenal are good enough to beat almost anyone when they put their back into it. And they would against a side such as Sevilla.
So where is the 'anti-La Liga' bollocks you drivel on about in that piece?
They are good teams. Most la liga fans come here to the English section saying that the top 4 spanish teams would be top 4 in the English league. So it works both ways. Realistically in recent years the mentioned sides havnt been great in europe when they have managed to make it and thats the closest we get to comparing them fully. If sevilla played arsenal 10 times in a neutral venue im sure they would win some games. But I think arsenal would win the majority. Saying sevilla beat real doesnt really convince me since Real cant get into the quater finals of the CL in the last 5-6 seasons. Besides that Burnley beat united last seaon 1-0. Does this make Burnley a match for Valencia? lol.
Alot of people said wow real and barca got so many points last season, such great teams. But for me it shows how lackluste their rivals are to gain that many. Rangers and celtic beat their closest rivals by 20-25 points every season does this make them great sides? In their own pond it does. Throughout a whole season Sevilla and valencia dont have the power of the top 2 sides and realistically the top2 are not much better if any better then the top4 of england
PartII Not much point here. I can see that even if I showed you God you would argue with me it wasnt until your eyes bleed dry. Real and barca are MUCH better? NO idea how you can point to real aka knocked out of the last 16 each year and say they are MUCH better then chelsea and united. You point to one season's result. I could equally point to the years united knocked barca out and chelsea also. Thats my point about burnley. It IS daft. saying this team beat that one and thats why they are good isnt a valid point. Lets see. Who won la liga and by how many points were 3rd place? barca, real and 20 something points? Who won the year before? Real followed by barca? see the simularities here? Celtic/rangers 20points from 3rd? The quality isnt the same but the gap between Hearts and Celtic is the same between Real and sevilla. hearts are as close to winning the league as Sevilla. In terms of a competition they are the same. They won UEFA two years in a row...why couldnt they qualify for CL? getting into the top 4 here is much more difficult then in la liga. PS dont take FIFA rankings serious. It has Dundee 14 places above city FFS. For most English sides the Uefa cup is treated like the carling. Stick out 2nd rate teams and hope to fall out soon so it doesnt affect league preformance.
Year on year Barca hasnt been much better. united got to 2 finals in a row. When barca gets to and wins 3 in a row then ill say yes they are miles ahead of anyone but in Europe there isnt any sides that are MUCH better then the rest otherwise we would have the same winners each year.
Part III At the end you have changed your arguement from saying all the english talked about arsenal and city to, spurs, villa everton and only a couple months ago. Sign of a losing debate. Perhaps. You have pretty much made an essay already and now that I have gone through point by point you cant be bothered. Tonight your questions have consisted of sucking c0ck for ronaldo and messi to sevilla are better then city and arsenal cause they beat real. Later on your be saying I talk rubbish haha sure.
PS If your a rangers fan and support la liga and hate the english snobbery...WHY come to the english section?
PSS haha didnt you say this "dont tell me it was a bad day ive had that arguement to death" followed by 'The year United knocked Barca out Barca were in disarray and Ronaldinho was a terrible influence.' Man are you reading what you write?
I wasnt here at that time. Just started coming to the footie section around a month ago.
Followed by attacking the person not the arguement. classic. Skinny? yea im 6ft3 and 14.5 stone in weight. Wouldnt say im skinny. Chav? you have no idea what fashion I use but my favourite brands are amoung Ted baker to tommy Hil...not chavy clothing. If you knew me half as well as you think or had even read any of my posts today you would find that my top 3 strikers were Villa, torres and Drogba. midfielders was xavi, robben and ronaldo. You dont know me at all. Losing a battle, spits his dummy out and tries to put me down for my appearance when you have choosen fat ronaldo in place of your own amazing looks. Nice one.
