depends on what you want to do there are community gardens(contact a soup kitchen for possible contacts)roadside/highway clean up adopt a road (town sanitation dept)local Boy Scout group they do lots of environmental work from tree planting to stream clean up,local fish and game club involved in environmental clean ups and habitat restoration for fish and wildlife
I wish you lived in my area. Boy, could we put you to work!. Look in the yellow pages of your phone book under Environmental Organizations. You might find a watershed association that serves your area, a municipal Environmental Advisory Commission or Shade Tree Commission, or a group dedicated to a particular group of organisms. If all else fails, start your own group through your school.
