Humans have without a doubt contibuted to the problems. Would you support higher prices and/or higher taxes to help correct the problem we have created?
Higher taxes wouldn't necessarily solve the problem - it depends on what gets taxed, and how the extra money is spent. To solve environmental problems might well involve higher prices to (for example) upgrade our technology, but if the upgrade/higher price was imposed across the board then that would be fairer on the affected businesses. Using tax to change social behaviour doesn't work that well - alcohol is taxed up to the neck in Britain but most people still drink.
