An officially recorded song, is a song where Elvis sat down in the studio and laid down the track that made it into an album or in a movie. That number is 711. However, the number of songs that have been recorded onto an audio device (Elvis' home recordings, him messing around in the studio, live concert recordings by an audience member or sound engineer) that number is probably close to, if not over a 1000. Its about 700 between the two record companies. Some songs he rerecorded and released. Then its more like 900.
Well his entire discography was released recently on box set for like $500, and it has 833 songs on it. So that might be the figure he recorded.
