I am considering doing this for a little extra money. I was just wondering if there's anyone who has done it before, and what it's like, how much you were compensated, etc. I am thinking of going through CSL plasma centers.
Thanks!

I have never done it. I used to donate blood every other month though. Here is a helpful site.It looks like it takes about 8 hour a month and you might be able to get around $200 to $250 total for the month, about $25 a visit.

I just did it for the first time today!!! They finger print you. Take your picture. Have your social security number. For as many people that are there, the government could totally track down people if it wasnt for the whole "invading privacy thing". They also give you a debit card so they can track you down more.hahaha. jk. I dont know, it just seems odd. Its a good way to make money and donate for the good of man kind. I am NOT sure if it is tax free though. You may have to claim it at the end of the year. I dont have to file so we'll see if I get introuble. I think the first 5 times I get $50 and the rest is based on my weight. I doesnt make it worth the 2 hours after awhile. I know the fluids that they give you when they put back your blood makes you feel alittle better walking out of there. Atleast I did!!!! I know I dont need another debit card in my wallet but its for a good cause.
Did you get this idea from the Tyra show yesterday? LOL Just curious.. .she had an episode on there about how to get free stuff and make extra money and donating plasma was one of the suggestions.
I have donated blood before, but never plasma, but you can donate it about every 2 weeks and get $25-40 each time.
ETA:
Oh wait, I guess it is twice a week, not every 2 weeks!
i donated plasma and got $30 each time and u can go twice a week. hey, that $240 a mth and tax free. wen u sign up u get a generic mmphysical; temperature, urblood pressure etcc. the next time. u go in and each time they check your weight, your blood pressuer and prick your finger to check your blood. then u go back into the big room w/all the ppl side by side and get on a lounge chair and they stick a big needle in your elbow crease. you get used to it it doesnt really hurt. then you squeeze a ball to keep the blood pumping thru this system that takes the plasma out of your blood. the whole process takes about 1 hr. so its 240 for 8hrs work; tax free; not bad. good luck.
they pay for plasma? my wife donated blood platelets. she,s a multi gallon whole blood donor. she will never attempt to donate platelets again. too time consuming, with little result.
